Excalibur
My good friend and comics aficionado, Erik Deneyer - the Belgian publisher of "Enigma Comics" - asked me to
create a 22- page one- shot around a subject of interest to us both : the legend of King Arthur. I wrote and
drew my own version of the classic story of Arthur retrieving his famous sword from the lady of the lake, and
placed the action in the middle of the sixth century, at a time when the Romans had left Celtic Brittain to the
Romanised Celts who had to fight off invasions from the Germanic tribes of the Anglosaxons.
